This blog forms part of the ESRC-funded project “Sustainable flood memories and the development of community resilience to future flood risk: a comparative study of three recently flooded communities,” run by the University of Gloucestershire, UK.

The blog presents some some preliminary ideas and findings from the research project. It is intended to make project outcomes available to a wider public, and to invite discussion around the relationship of floods, memory and resilience.

In other words, questions asked and conclusions drawn on the blog need to be read as ‘first thoughts’ in a process of emerging understanding, rather than as ‘official research findings’.
